….. report on MonkeyPeaches.com (via AICN) states that filming on KUNG FU HUSTLE 2 will begin in September or October in Shanghai and will wrap before the year's end. According to their site, “Almost everyone, including Stephen Chow himself, Lam Tse-Chung (Chow's sidekick), Yuen Qiu (the Landlady) and Yuen Wah (the Landlord), will reappear in the sequel. Even Chan Kwok-Kwan, whose character died in the first film, will return with a new character.” The only major character who probably won't return is Huang Shengyi who played the female lead. The film reportedly has a $15 million budget, a part of which has been put up by Sony Pictures who were impressed with how well the film did stateside. HUSTLE hit DVD shelves yesterday and I highly recommend you pick it up (or at least rent the thing).
