Look seriously good dude. Pity it didn't get completed. Hopefully you'll do another as fine.

Well... we did put alot of effort and $$ in this project wen started. And also becoz tat time no experience, wasted alot of time & $$$.

The animation are done using 2D cell animation. Thats why it look nice. The idea was to do something like Disney did it... but budget not allow..  :*

Before the project was close down, we manage to come out a Christmas teaser.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/bfMS3b9Smoo&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/bfMS3b9Smoo&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>

We did try to sell idea to investor and apply for grant, but failed. Anyway, since now I manage to get a grant for a new cartoon, and once the financial its enough, we will for sure cont this cartoon.  :D

alkisahhh maka tersebutlah satu cite tentang satu group of malaysians (dan sket orang luar) ni yang berangan2 nak buat katun. tapi dengan tahap perkembangan 2d animation software ni lowyat yang rendah maka tak dapat la mereka tunjuk hasil yang bagus dalam masa yang pendek... tetapi atas dasar ingin cuba maka dibuat jugalah animasi2 pendek. mereka namakan animasi itu laksali, siap dengan website sekali. tapi sayang, takde sesape yang nak beli, and nak maintain kos distribution aka bandwidth bukan makan semangat tapi makan  duit so lelame harapan berkubur cam gitu je...

Well, to my surprise that the cartoon "Laksali" were mention here one before... long long time ago.

Well, its one of our production, or so called the very first cartoon we created. (i use the word "we" because it was done by a team.. not a single person).

This is the short intro of the 5 character
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/Hn4JMsFo6FM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/Hn4JMsFo6FM&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>

This project were unable to continue due to financial issue. But it was a good step for us. We learn alot from this project, in term of skill and knowledge.

The website its at: www.laksali.com

better stick dgn apa yg kita dah pandai..if pakai toonboon lak mesti kena train kejap.. tp if masa dlm jadual itu membenarkan why not try to use it if it is much better than anime stdio..huhu

still in the middle of cracking up head.. yet to decide. Well.. going to do more research. Thanks for the reply.  :D

software is just a tool..kualiti dan creativity terletak pada insan itu tersendiri..huhu...

kebanyakan aku tgk bdk2 ni pakai flash je.. ermm aku kureng arif bende 2d animation ni.. tp bg aku kualiti dan tech flash dah almost secantik manual 2d cartoon.. huhu..

so dah beli software ke utk pre-seed tu?

Preseed does not include the purchase of software. So we need to choose the software carefully.

Currently we are using Anime Studio, so far so good, better then Flash.
Here its one of our work using Anime Studio
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/QAIyxZ81g5s&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/QAIyxZ81g5s&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>

But recently we heard lot of ppl using Toon Boom, even the latest Disney animation, Princess and Frog also used that software.

So, we are now stuck here.. use Anime Studio or Toon Boom. Oh ya, coz we have no experience in Toon Boom, that why I m asking around.

like wat madstone say.. its usually wat ppl do with their paypal account.

For me, i transfer my paypal fund to my credit card.. i m using Maybank credit card. Some time it take around 1 week for the money to credit it back to my credit card. Then i use the credit card to buy stuff.

And for transfer to local bank.. i got few friends also done tat, but it really take a hell of time.. up to months.

Well... paypal its free, so nothing to say about. I still like paypal compare to the rest.

Previously we file dispute and within a short period of time, we manage to get back our paypal money. (also buy transformers from ebay.. and the seller run away!)

Thanks. I got few more storyline also.

Here another sample.   :-)

ooo ok...freelance or work FT under company?

Full time doing cartoon. We just got our Mdec grant approve, and waiting for the process.

Btw.. i was going around on inserting Youtube video and avatar.. yet cannot find it. Can some one pls help? Thz....

36
The given grant its total of RM 150k, with dateline of 1 year. So we must fully utilize it. As far as we know.. as long as you got a good design, nice storyline and smooth animation.. there always a demand for cartoon.

If just coming out a teaser using RM 150k.. i think its kinna waste. If plan nicely.. for sure its a success.. just look at the existing applicant such as

Animasia
Inspedia

and cartoon such as Geng, Upin & Ipin, Salladin.. and etc.

All are from the grant applicant.

u comic artist ke? or designer? or animator?

more to animator... do 2D animation.

38
Hopefully.. the info its still valid.

We just being approve by Mdec for the preseed grant of RM 150k for 2D cartoon animation.

Usually most applicant will use the RM 150 for trailers or preview of 5 - 15 minutes. But we take the challenge to get up a 20 minutes first episode.. so we might end up using our own pocket money.

You can go n download the document.. and look into it. Do some online research..for sure it will help alot.. as it help us on our proposal.
