Pada 13 Januari lalu, saya berpeluang menonton screening filem Geng Pengembaraan Bermula yang turut dibintangi Upin & Ipin yang comel itu. Bertempat di panggung Cathay Cinileisure, Damansara. Terimakasih Les’ Copaque Production terutama kepada Zarin (atau dikenali sebagai mediahorizon yang juga salah seorang ahli pergh. )

Upin & Ipin adalah watak popular yang tidak perlu di perkenalkan lagi. Bahkan merupakan satu ikon kejayaan industri animasi 3D tempatan. Kecomelan dan kenakalan mereka, kepetahan berbicara dua beradik kembar ini boleh saya katakan sebagai satu fenomena baru dalam dunia animasi Malaysia. Tambahan pula dengan tagline trademark popular mereka iaitu “Betul betul betul!” atau pengulangan  1 perkataan sebanyak 3 kali berturutan dengan intonasi yang sama. Selain itu, lambang kejayaan siri Upin dan Ipin antaranya ialah ia telah di-pirate-kan merata-rata!. Hatta ke pelusuk kampung dan felda!. Selain itu ringtone ‘betul betul betul’ nya juga selalu didengari.

Racedriver: Grid merupakan game yang dibangunkan oleh codemasters dan tahu kah anda? sebahagian besar sumber artistik yang disumbangkan untuk game ini dibuat oleh beberapa anak jati Malaysia di Codemasters Studios, Kuala Lumpur dengan kolaberasi ibu pejabatnya di United Kingdom. Sempena dengan pelancaran game ini, semua warga pergh dan rakan-rakan semua dijemput hadir pada hari tersebut. Rabu, 11 Jun 2008 di Zouk KL. 7 petang hingga 1 pagi.

This game was largely done in our Malaysian studio with the collaboration of our main office in the UK. This is a first for Malaysia as there has never been a next generation console game done here, neither has any triple A level game been produced here before (by the same company that released it).

The launch of Grid will be done on June 11th at Zouk (main room).
We open the party to the adult general public from 7pm to 1am (must be of legal age since the place sells booze). Arcades will be on site for you to play the game.

• The game will be available for purchase at an awesome discounted price.

• Ralph Fulton; Chief Game Designer for Grid will be in from the UK.

• Press Conference with Media access will be from 6pm to 7pm.

• Live DJ, More surprises will be revealed on that day itself! (Prizes anyone?)

The Creative Multimedia Department of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is organizing a animation pitching competition. In this competition, companies or individuals will have to pitch their idea, pre-production of their animated characters, information of the story and eventual background.

OBJECTIVE:

• To use this as a showcase of Malaysia talent in the content creation industries that can be showcased or marketed globally.
• To encourage and nurture new talents in turning their Ideas into reality.
• To attract animation content developers to come out with greater ideas and stories.

Professional: 3 winners from this category will be awarded RM 50,000 grant each,
Independent: 3 winners from this category will be awarded RM 40,000 grant each
to support their trailer or pilot episode.
