The Msc Malaysia IP Creators Challenge Series Returns With Over RM 1,000,000 Up For Grabs
Interested in creating innovative content? You are invited to participate in the MSC Malaysia Intellectual Property Creators Challenge Series (MSC Malaysia IPCC), which is one of the hottest MSC Malaysia Creative Multimedia Content Initiative (M-CMCI) to help support the development of creative content and creative talents in Malaysia.
Win up to RM 1,000,000 in grants. This annual competition is one of the more ardently contested and anticipated event in the local content development market.
So what’s up for grabs? Well, in addition to the grants, winners will have unlimited access to MSC Malaysia Animation & Creative Content Centre (MaC3) facilities; and mentorship from some of the best and more talented individuals and organizations in the country.
More importantly, past winners have also seen their works receiving a high degree of interest – especially for commercialization purpose from leading television channels, magazines publishers and others from not just Malaysia but around the world!
What is it?
Organized by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the annual event is one of the jewels among Malaysia’s “content – entreprenuership” (contentpreneurship) development programmes.
To date, it has seen several Malaysian content creators and organizations moving to the international content creation scene and has been “Creating Content for the World” in broadcast and animation through the grants, guidance and content matching that the MSC Malaysia IPCC provides participants.
This year, the IPCC competition continues to feature four exciting categories. The categories are Animation Competition; Computer Casual Games Competition; Digital Interactive Comic Competition and Mobile Games Competition.
Prizes for the categories include:
- Animation Competition
6 winners will receive RM 50,000 each for the development of a 3 minute short animation video - Computer Casual Games Competition
Winners will receive RM 50,000 each to develop a commercial ready game - Digital Interactive Comic Competition
10 winners will receive RM 20,000 each to develop up to 60 pages of illustrated and digital interactive comics - Mobile Games Competition
5 winners will receive RM 50,000 each to develop completed mobile games
Mentors assigned for MSC Malaysia Animation Competition finalists are industry experts who will act as advisors during the development of ideas.
The closing date to submit entries for Animation Competition, Computer Casual Games Competition, Digital Interactive Comic Competition and Mobile Games Competition is July 1st, 2010.
For this year, all submissions must be made online at www.mscmalaysia.my/ipcc
Only short listed candidates will be notified and will then go through to the “Pitching” Stage and here the participants will pitch their end product to the judges, while convincing the judges of their creative ideas.

Secara umumnya ramai pembaca di Malaysia ini pandai atau tahu melukis (dan/atau design). Cuma selalunya tak ada idea nak lukis apa, mungkin kerana kurang dorongan atau tiada output yang sesuai. Maka itulah perlunya ada kawan2 yang boleh membantu mencadangkan apa yang nak dilukis. Lebih baik lagi kalau wujudnya persaingan, saling mencabar secara sihat, bertarung melukis dan mereka bentuk benda yg sama di dalam satu pertandingan.

Malaysian 24 Hour Comics Challenge 2007
After a very successful Malaysian 24 Hour Comics Challenge 2006, now 2007 challenge is back. Bigger & Greater!!!
Venue: Cineleisure Damansara (same as last year)
Date: 20 & 21 Oct 2007 (the exact date with the US)
Time: 12pm – 12pm the following day (food & drink will be provided)
Participate Fee: Free
Rules: Finish up 24 pages within 24 hours time, original character & story, any styles of art, any medium (except computer) & no age limit.

Cerita Rakyat Malaysia Creative Competition
There’s so many ‘project’ lately from MDEC . And this is another good competition for you to participate. I would like to recommend all of this project / competition for IPTA / IPTS Student, especially Art & Design / Multimedia Student.
Most of the IPT student nowadays very lacks in their works portfolio, want experiences but doing nothing except blame here, blame there, blaming everything all the time. If the “kambing” they can blame, they will do it too.. (yes!.. most of them ‘bercinta sana sini’ while study… I see it all around maaa… Duh!) .
Take this advantage! If you did not win the prize, you still got something to show off for your “job interview” after your IPT world is over!.
CERITA RAKYAT MALAYSIA CREATIVE COMPETITION
In conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007, MSC Malaysia is proud to announce that we are organizing a creative competition based on the Cerita Rakyat Malaysia (Malaysian Folklore). The competition will focus on the character designs of the Cerita Rakyat Malaysia; Mahsuri, Hang Tuah, Laksamana Bentan, Puteri Santubong, Pak Pandir or Si Luncai.
Submission will be open until 15 August 2007

MSC Malaysia Digital Comic Design Competition 2007
The Creative Multimedia Department of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is organizing a Comic Design Competition. In this competition, teams or individuals will have to pitch their idea and pre-production of the characters and storyline of the digital comic.
OBJECTIVE:
- To use this as a showcase of Malaysia talent in the content creation industries that can be showcased or marketed globally.
- The competition will be an avenue to encourage and explore talents in Malaysia to turn their greater ideas and stories into reality.
Professional: 10 winners from this category will be awarded RM 15,000 grant each,
Independent: 5 winners from this category will be awarded RM 10,000 grant each
to support their comic illustration and digitising production of their complete full comic series, mini series or graphic novel from their proposal.
Submission of proposals will be open until 28 June 2007. MDeC will be organizing workshops in the month of April, May and June 2007 for the benefit of interested participants. These workshops will help them to have a better understanding of the requirements needed to develop the comic illustration and digitising production within the allocated budget. These workshops will also help participants to come up with strong proposals for the eventual pitch.

MSC Malaysia Animation Competition 2007
The Creative Multimedia Department of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) is organizing a animation pitching competition. In this competition, companies or individuals will have to pitch their idea, pre-production of their animated characters, information of the story and eventual background.
OBJECTIVE:
- To use this as a showcase of Malaysia talent in the content creation industries that can be showcased or marketed globally.
- To encourage and nurture new talents in turning their Ideas into reality.
- To attract animation content developers to come out with greater ideas and stories.
Professional: 3 winners from this category will be awarded RM 50,000 grant each,
Independent: 3 winners from this category will be awarded RM 40,000 grant each
to support their trailer or pilot episode.
